New York City Ballet is offering a number of opportunities to get you and your family moving through a host of dance and movement workshops for all ages. They also have launched their digital spring season to the public. Tune in this Tuesday for Balanchine’s first collaboration with Igor Stravinsky, Apollo, and Friday for his Ballo della Regina and Wheeldon’s emotionally stirring After the Rain Pas de Deux. THE PLAYHOUSE IS LAUNCHING A HOME VIDEO CHALLENGE
Ever dreamed of being in your own movie — or even re-creating your favorite scene in a movie? Now’s the time to go for it — and have fun doing it!
Instructions:

  • Make a 1-3 minute video re-creation of a favorite movie scene (no fancy equipment required – smart phone videos are fine)
  • Post it on your favorite social media platform and tag @BedfordPlayhouse with caption: CAN YOU NAME THIS MOVIE!? #BPHvideochallenge
  • Challenge up to three friends or families to do the same. Email your video to Programming@bedfordplayhouse.orgfor a chance to have your video shown on the big screen once we re-open!

THE BEST MEDICINE  – Weekly Virtual Comedy Show

The Nantucket Comedy Festival is virtually gathering a group of comics, to provide some laughs, some diversion, and a dose of the “Best Medicine”. This will be a weekly show hosted by multi-Emmy winner and recently retired ESPN host, Bob Ley. Each week, Bob will be joined by four nationally known comedians to bring comedy to viewers tuned in to NCTV channels during this difficult time, because, as we know —  laughter is the best medicine.  THE BEST MEDICINE will be broadcast on Thursday evenings at 7 pm on YouTube — enjoy!
