Sept 26th, 2024 – We screened Meko, a film seven years in the making that tells the story of a man and a community who have weathered the storm. Filmmaker Harrison Buck takes viewers on an in-depth journey through the macro-effects of climate change on delicate coastal communities like the Bahamas Outer Islands, as seen through the eyes of legacy fly fishing guide Omeko “Meko” Glinton. Co-starring female guide and angler Abbie Schuster, Meko showcases the world of elite fishing guides and how Glinton’s life was turned upside down after the devastation of Hurricane Dorian. Featuring stunning visuals of the Bahamian ecosystem and a 100% carbon-neutral production, the film is a moving testament to human resilience, community strength, and the hope for a sustainable future through the power of fly fishing.
