Come listen to live music in the Playhouse Café or outdoors at the Playhouse Lawn. Every first Friday of the month, we host free performances in our cozy café – where you can enjoy a bite, sip a drink, and relax to the sounds of talented local musicians.
First Fridays: Inside the Song

Inside the Song is an intimate evening with three songwriters, offering a deeper look into the stories, moments, and lived experiences behind the music. Curated and hosted by singer-songwriter Jennifer Harper, the evening reimagines the traditional in-the-round format as something more immersive, flowing, and connected, giving each artist space to stay inside their creative rhythm while bringing the audience closer to the heart of the songs. Blending live music with thoughtful conversation, the evening offers a rare chance to step inside the creative process: where songs begin, how they take shape, and what they reveal along the way. Also featuring singer-songwriters Jennifer Paskow and Jenny Bruce. A special evening of live music, storytelling, and conversation that brings you closer to the heart of the songs. First Fridays: Cross Purpose

Cross Purpose is a four-piece rock and blues band formed in 2005. They play a variety of styles that range from straight ahead rock to high-energy ballads to even 12 bar blues. Their sound relies on a very solid rhythmic foundation, strong vocals, and stellar lead guitar. They uniquely combine mostly original material, powerful arrangements, and contemporary lyrics that go beyond the typical. Their first CD Sum Of The Parts with 12 original songs was released in 2007, their second, Live At The Upper Room, came out in 2011, the CD These Men You’ve Made with another 12 original tunes became available in 2013, the album The Extent Of What We Know with 14 more original songs dropped in 2018, and their newest album, More To Do, containing another 14 originals, was released in 2023. Featuring Bob Stanhope on vocals and rhythm guitar, Roy Ellingsen on vocals and lead guitar, Doug Bolin on vocals and bass guitar, and Jeremy Brown on drums. Show begins at 6:30pm. Christine Chanel

Christine Chanel is an indie-soul recording artist based in Westchester, NY. Known for her powerful yet intimate vocals and emotionally grounded songwriting, her music blends soul and indie influences with the patience of an artist who lets songs grow through live performance. A fixture of the New York tri-state music scene, Christine has spent years connecting with audiences in rooms both large and small, often alongside an incredible roster of musicians. Her approach is intentional and unforced, focused on creating moments that feel real, resonant, and lasting. She has made appearances at the 2025 Sleepy Hollow Music Festival, 2018 & 2022 Pleasantville Music Festival as well as many renown music venues throughout the NY Tri-State area such as Tarrytown Music Hall, City Winery (HV), Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, Garcia's, The Colony, Bearsville Theater and Arlene's Grocery. David Wolff

Fingerpicking guitarist David Wolff, found his passion for music after hearing Hot Tuna, eventually teaching alongside Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Jorma Kaukonen at Fur Peace Ranch. Wolff has played with legends like Oteil Burbridge (The Allman Brothers, Dead & Co.) and David Bromberg. Don't miss this intimate performance! Show begins at 6:30pm. Louis Cato

Louis Cato’s journey to becoming bandleader of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert began at age two on the drums, evolving through gospel roots in North Carolina to Berklee College of Music and, ultimately, New York City. Now a Grammy-nominated, internationally acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, producer, singer, and songwriter, Cato has collaborated with artists like Bobby McFerrin, James Taylor, Q-Tip, Jon Batiste, and St. Vincent. After years supporting other artists, he stepped into the spotlight with his solo work, including Starting Now (2017), Reflections (2023), and Cato Covers, Vol. 1 (2024), followed by new singles in 2025. His Duke Robillard–produced album The Levee was named one of the Top 100 Blues Albums of 2012 by The Roots Report, reaching #3 on their Blues chart and #1 overall.
