AI, Honestly with John Roa — B&NC Talks at the Bedford Playhouse
- Wed, May 27
Run Time: 90 min.
We are excited to announce the launch of B&NC TALKS, designed to bring the magazine's stories to life in real time. Conceived as a curated live series, B&NC Talks is a forum to gather a dynamic mix of voices: leading experts at the top of their fields, notable figures connected to cultural moments and premieres, and compelling individuals from within the readership to share their perspectives with our community in an intimate environment, designed to foster exchange of ideas. Because we are all better when we are educated and connected with an opportunity to broaden our perspectives. The inaugural talk will be exploring AI (Artificial Intelligence). We will be joined in discussion by John Roa (featured in the July/Aug '25 issue) a leading AI CEO and expert. John cuts through the hype and the doom to explain how these systems really work, where they fail, and what parents, professionals, and neighbors should really be paying attention to. AI, Honestly... we look forward to hearing your questions!
A Rescue Feast with Second Chance Foods
- Sun, Jun 14
Run Time: 90 min.
Join us for a family program featuring a read-aloud of A Rescue Feast, followed by hands-on activities that introduce children to food recovery and composting. Through storytelling and guided exploration, participants will consider how food can be used thoughtfully rather than wasted. After the reading, children will plant green onion roots to take home, sort foods to determine what can be reused or composted, and sample applesauce to connect these ideas to everyday experience. Presented in partnership with Second Chance Foods, a Hudson Valley nonprofit that rescues surplus food and transforms it into nutritious meals for those in need. A portion of the proceeds from this program will directly support the work of Second Chance Foods. Books will be available for sale and signing.
