June 19, 2025 – Bedford Playhouse recently partnered with Braver Angels to present Depolarizing Ourselves, an interactive workshop aimed at promoting more respectful and productive conversations across political and ideological divides. Led by a trained Braver Angels facilitator, the session offered participants practical tools to recognize and reduce their own contributions to polarization, emphasizing that civil discourse begins with mutual respect—even in the absence of agreement.
Attendees gathered in the Playhouse Café before the program to connect over drinks and light fare before diving into the evening’s discussion. Through guided exercises and open dialogue, the workshop explored how today’s political climate is often driven more by emotionally charged exchanges than genuine disagreement on issues. The session encouraged self-awareness, listening, and empathy as key components of healthier conversations.
As a nonpartisan, non-religious organization, Braver Angels is dedicated to bridging America’s political divide by fostering understanding and connection. The Playhouse was proud to host this meaningful and timely program, which left attendees feeling more equipped to approach difficult conversations with patience, openness, and grace.
