Feb. 21st, 2026 – We had the extraordinary honor of welcoming legendary composer and songwriter Alan Menken for an unforgettable evening of music and storytelling. Fans were treated to live performances of selections from Menken’s iconic repertoire, alongside personal stories from his remarkable career.

Alan Menken, a towering figure in both musical theater and film, is best known for his collaborations with Disney, composing the unforgettable scores for animated classics such as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Pocahontas. Beyond film, Menken’s influence extends to the stage, with hit musicals including Little Shop of Horrors, Newsies, Sister Act, and Broadway adaptations of Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin.

Celebrated for his artistic achievements, Menken is among the select few to have earned an EGOT, winning Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards—a testament to his enduring impact on music and entertainment. The evening at Bedford Playhouse offered fans a rare and intimate glimpse into the mind of a true musical legend, leaving the audience inspired and mesmerized.
