At Bedford Playhouse, we are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible experience for all guests. From building access to seating, hearing assistance, and sensory-friendly screenings, we strive to make every visit enjoyable and comfortable.

Building Accessibility

  • Parking:  One accessible parking space is available in the back parking lot and front entrance. The front entrance may be used for convenient drop-off and pick-up.
  • Entrance: The public entrance is located at 633 Old Post Road, Bedford, NY 10506. All front doors are ADA-compliant, and an assistive door opener is available on the far right at the main entrance.
  • Elevator: An elevator is available on both levels.

Seating Accessibility

  • Wheelchair-accessible seating with companion seats is available in both the Main Theater and the Clive Theater. View our seating map here. Patrons requiring special assistance are encouraged to contact the box office at (914) 234-6704 in advance to make arrangements.

Hearing Assistance

We offer two options for deaf or hard-of-hearing guests:

  1. Auracast Hearing Assistance: Our theatre sound system is compatible with Auracast, allowing an unlimited number of users to connect their hearing aids, earbuds, or headphones directly to the theatre audio system. Please ask a manager for assistance.
  2. Doremi CaptiView Closed Captioning Device: Each device features a small, privacy-hooded OLED screen on a bendable support arm that fits into a standard cup holder. Encrypted closed captions are delivered via wireless signal, allowing you to follow the dialogue from any seat. Devices are available at no cost—request one at the box office.

Restrooms

  • ADA-accessible unisex restrooms are available on both the upper and lower levels.

Service Animals

  • Trained service animals are welcome at Bedford Playhouse.
  • The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) defines a service animal as any dog individually trained to assist a person with a disability. Staff will not ask for documentation or inquire about a person’s disability.

Sensory Screenings

  • Enjoy a family-friendly movie experience in a comfortable, inclusive setting. Sound is softened, lights are dimmed, and guests are free to move, talk, or sing along. Everyone is welcome. Endorsed by the Inclusive Initiative.
