George Stevens, Jr. – writer and director of George Stevens: A Filmmaker’s Journey – presents a new 4K restoration of his documentary about his father followed by a conversation with former New York Times film critic Janet Maslin.

George Stevens, Jr. is a director, writer, producer and playwright. He is the founder of the American Film Institute and creator of the Kennedy Center Honors. His awards in-clude fourteen Emmys, eight Writers Guild and two Peabody Awards, the Humanitas Prize and an Honorary Oscar for life-time achievement. He is the author of Conversations with the Great Moviemakers of Hollywood’s Golden Age and the Broadway play ThurgoodEarlier this year he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest award for a civilian.
