More Than Blue is a groundbreaking new documentary that illuminates the faces and voices of postpartum depression across America. Through the real stories of families across the country, the film shines a light on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders – too often unseen, unheard, or misunderstood.

A panel discussion and Q&A follows the film, moderated by Vanessa Smith.

While we have come a long way over the last decade in terms of screening patients, most individuals experiencing conditions like postpartum depression, anxiety, or psychosis still go undiagnosed or untreated. We need to do better. Pairing personal stories with expert insights, the film aims to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and ensure mothers receive the care they need to recover and heal. More Than Blue is both a testament to the strength of families and a call to action – grounded in the science and stories – to ensure that no one suffers in shame or silence.

Panelists:

Shoshanna Rome, LMHC, PMHC is a maternal mental health therapist based in Mount Kisco. Shoshanna’s background as a doula gives her a deep, firsthand understanding of what mothers experience before and after birth. She specializes in postpartum depression and anxiety, birth trauma, the quiet loss of self that can come with motherhood, and the relationship shifts that often accompany new parenthood. Shoshanna believes that society too often leaves mothers invisible and unsupported and is dedicated to exposing this truth, bringing it into the open, and ensuring every mother she works with feels genuinely seen. In addition to her clinical practice, Shoshanna is the co-founder of MOMentum, a community-based organization providing essential education and group support for mothers.

Sloan Post, LCSW, PMH-C is a maternal mental health therapist and founder of Westchester Child-Parent Therapy in White Plains, NY. She believes mothers are the backbone of society and among the most underserved, particularly during the transitions that upend the systems and strategies they rely on: becoming a mother, expanding a family, navigating divorce, relocating and rebuilding community, balancing work and family life, and beyond. Sloan has a particular focus on supporting mothers with ADHD, addressing the unique challenges neurodivergent parents face when conventional approaches fall short. Her work holds space for both the practical – executive functioning, daily structure – and the deeply personal: the identity shifts that are inseparable from the experience of motherhood. Through her clinical practice and co-founded organization MOMentum, Sloan is committed to ensuring the realities of modern motherhood are understood and meaningfully addressed.

Jacqueline Paolino Gadigian is the Founder and Creative Director of Serenity Music Org, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing mental health and women’s health through the power of music. She is the visionary behind The WOMB Music Project, a multi-artist initiative focused on supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond by bringing healing sound into both personal and clinical settings. Through Serenity Music, Jacqueline creates purpose-driven projects that bridge art and science, with a focus on maternal mental health and postpartum care. A mother, artist, and advocate, she uses storytelling and sound to foster connection, healing, and meaningful change.

Dr. Sadaf Lodhi is a board-certified OB-GYN with over 20 years of experience dedicated to empowering women through education, advocacy, and personalized care. She is the founder and CEO of Femme Vie Health, a concierge gynecology practice in New York, and also provides telehealth services for patients in Michigan. Her clinical focus spans the full spectrum of women’s health, with a specialization in menopause, sexual health, and intimacy coaching. Dr. Lodhi is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, an ISSWSH Fellow, and a sexual counselor and educator. She is also a contributing author in Thriving After Burnout and Made for More 2, further amplifying her mission to help women embrace midlife as a season of vitality and possibility.
