Movie Club is a seasonal series with a rotating theme, each edition delving into a fresh cinematic focus. This inaugural series invites thought-provoking discussions through literary adaptations and films with ties to the Hudson Valley. For each installment, you’re encouraged (but not required) to read the book, join us for the screening, and stay for an engaging conversation led by educator Vic Messick.
Recommended reading: “A Moveable Feast” by Ernest Hemingway. Read the book, watch the film, then stay for the discussion afterwards.
Purchase the entire Movie Club series for $150 by emailing programming@bedfordplayhouse.org
This is a romantic comedy set in Paris about a family that goes there because of business, and two young people who are engaged to be married in the fall have experiences there that change their lives. It’s about a young man’s great love for a city, Paris, and the illusion people have that a life different from theirs would be much better.
Inspired by A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway.
