As part of Bedford Village Sidewalk Sale, we’re celebrating animals, community, and compassion alongside Sidewalk Angels Foundation and Paws Crossed—organizations connected through a shared commitment to rescue and advocacy. Sidewalk Angels Foundation has directly supported Paws Crossed since before day one, helping strengthen the rescue organization’s ability to provide shelter, medical care, rehabilitation, and second chances for vulnerable animals. Their partnership reflects how sustained support from organizations like Sidewalk Angels helps local rescues not only survive, but grow and succeed.

The day begins with a pet adoption pop-up in front of the Playhouse from 11am–1pm, where you can meet adoptable dogs and learn more about the lifesaving work being done by local rescue organizations.

At 1pm, join us for a screening of The Secret Life of Pets with a special introduction by Rob and Marisol Thomas of Sidewalk Angels Foundation.

When their owners leave for the day, pets in a Manhattan apartment building gossip with friends, satisfy their sweet tooths, and throw outrageous parties. But when a pampered terrier and his unruly new “roommate” from the pound get lost in the urban jungle of New York City, they must put aside their differences to survive the epic journey back home.

Sidewalk Angels Foundation

Established by Rob and Marisol Thomas, Sidewalk Angels Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting those without a voice—primarily through animal rescue, welfare, and advocacy. The Foundation supports close to 30 no-kill shelters, rescue groups, and grassroots organizations across the country and beyond. Helping to provide care, medical treatment, rehabilitation, and protection for abandoned, abused and neglected animals, as well as helping families in crisis who are unable to get their pets the care they need. 

Paws Crossed 

A private, non-profit “no-kill” animal rescue organization located in Westchester County, New York, dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs and cats. Their work provides animals with safe shelter, medical care, and a path toward permanent, loving homes.
