Vietnam…through my lens

Coming on November 10

Run Time: 75 min.

Vietnam…through my lens, written and performed by Stu Richel, is a sometimes poignant, sometimes light-hearted, always thought-provoking, solo play exploring his journey as a combat journalist and photographer to, through and beyond his military service in Vietnam. No politics, no blood and guts, just one soldier’s intimately personal and unique tale about friendships, trust, and tenacity travels from the jungles of South East Asia to the “jungle” of Manhattan.

Directed by Linda S. Nelson. Video montages by Michael Lee Stever.

“In his simple storytelling style, Stu can make the ordinary seem extraordinary and the everyday seem heroic. His words and pictures bring to life a palpable sense of what the country’s pulse was at the time of Vietnam.” – David Lally, NY Indie Theatre Now.

“Richel has written and performs an absolutely engaging, realistic yet primarily light-hearted, view of his participation in a war that tore not only Vietnam, but this country, to shreds… (he) tells a great tale, no matter what your age.” – Karen D’Onofrio, Off Bway Blog

“I was thoroughly impressed with the production… a first-rate job of performing and staging” – Loretta Swit, Actor, Artist, Activist

“Director Linda S. Nelson’s delicate and intimate treatment of veteran actor and true American Veteran Stu Richel will long be remembered!  Vietnam … through my lens touches and jars the heart!” – Grace Pettijohn, Actor/Producer

“It is real, honest, moving and a particularly American work.” – Constance Rodgers, Front Row Center
