November 22nd, 2024 – Bedford Playhouse hosted an unforgettable evening to celebrate the highly anticipated film adaptation of Wicked, the beloved Broadway musical that has captivated audiences for over two decades.
The sold-out event featured a special pre-film discussion with Dan Micciche, Musical Director of the Broadway production, who offered exclusive insights into the show’s music, legacy, and its journey from stage to screen. Guests were thrilled to gain a deeper understanding of the artistry behind the iconic score and the film’s adaptation process.
Directed by Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights), Wicked: Part One stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, exploring their untold stories in the Land of Oz. With an all-star cast including Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, and Jeff Goldblum, the film delivers a breathtaking reimagining of Gregory Maguire’s novel and the stage production.
