Jan. 30th, 2026 – As part of our ongoing Listen To The Movie series celebrating the power of movie music, audiences recently gathered for a special screening of National Lampoon’s Animal House. Directed by John Landis and starring comedy legend John Belushi alongside Tim Matheson, Donald Sutherland, Karen Allen, Kevin Bacon, and more, Animal House remains the definitive college comedy—packed with food fights, toga parties, and rebellious humor.

After the screening, Rob Cavenagh, local resident and self-professed soundtrack enthusiast, led the audience through the music that helped define the film’s irreverent tone and enduring popularity. From Otis Day and the Knights’ iconic performance of “Shout” to the carefully chosen tracks that underscored the film’s anarchic spirit, the conversation combined film history, musical deep dives, and community connection. Experiencing the film through the lens of its soundtrack offered fresh insight into why it continues to resonate decades later.
