Dear Friends of the Bedford Playhouse,
Like so many in Bedford and across the music and arts communities, we are reflecting on the extraordinary life and legacy of Clive Davis.
Few individuals have had a greater impact on American music. Through his remarkable vision, unwavering belief in artists, and commitment to excellence, Clive helped shape generations of musical talent and left an enduring imprint on our culture.
While the world knew Clive as a legendary music executive and producer, we were fortunate to know him as a longtime member of our community. His connection to Bedford was meaningful, and we have been especially honored to carry his name through the Clive Davis Arts Center at the Bedford Playhouse. Nearly a decade ago, Clive lent his name and support to our organization, helping to affirm the important role that arts and culture play in enriching community life.
Clive understood the power of music, storytelling, and shared experiences to bring people together. Those same values remain at the heart of our mission today. His legacy lives on not only through the extraordinary artists he championed, but also through the cultural institutions, audiences, and communities that continue to benefit from his vision and generosity.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and the entire Bedford Playhouse community, we extend our deepest condolences to Clive’s family and loved ones. We are grateful for his friendship, his support of the arts, and the lasting impact he made here in Bedford and around the world.
With gratitude and remembrance,
Don Greenwald
Chair, Board of Directors
